Adult Ministries

Pastor Amy will be offering a series of short-term Book Studies for Adults throughout the year.  Classes will be offered IN PERSON on Tuesday Nights from 6:00-7:00 and ONLINE on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30pm.  Books may be purchased in the main office or you can order eBooks online from your favorite vendor.

ADVENT:  “The Redemption of Scrooge” by Matt Rawle

Ebenezer Scrooge is a man in dire need of a second chance. The Redemption of Scrooge shows us how the teachings of Jesus can be found in Dickens’ Christmas classic. From the ghosts of Christmas past, to the Life of the present, and the resurrection of Christmas future, this Advent study will “bless us every one” and reinvigorate our spiritual journeys as we look at this familiar story through the lens of faith.

The Advent Book Study is 4 weeks.

WINTER:  “The Difficult Words of Jesus” by Amy-Jill Levine

Sometimes Jesus taught difficult lessons, such as hating family, acting as slaves, selling everything, Jews first, and paths to damnation .. In The Difficult Words of Jesus, Amy-Jill Levine shows how these difficult teachings would have sounded to the people who first heard them, how have they been understood over time, and how we might interpret them in the context of the Gospel of love and reconciliation.
The Winter Book Study is 6 weeks.
